Just Catamarans yacht broker Uliana Tikhonova went inside the Windelo shipyard in Canet-en-Roussillon, on France’s Mediterranean coast, to see how these performance sailing catamarans are built. In her five-minute factory tour she walks the production floor and explains what makes a Windelo different, from the materials in the hulls to the way the boats make their own power.

- Basalt fiber and recycled PET. Hulls built from basalt fiber and recycled PET foam instead of conventional glass and petroleum-based core.

- Renewable energy. Solar power and electric propulsion designed in from the start, so the boat can live off the grid.
About Windelo
Windelo builds eco-designed performance catamarans from 50 to 62 feet, made mainly from recycled and light materials and fitted with electric drive. Every Windelo is designed with naval architects Barreau-Neuman, known for high-performance multihulls, and built at the company’s yard in Canet-en-Roussillon, France. The result is a catamaran that sails fast, lives off the grid, and asks less of the ocean it explores.
