Our story
From one Atlantic crossing to 22 years of catamarans.
Both born, raised and married in South Africa, Kent and Belinda Grimbeek decided to take a year to travel before settling down and starting a family.
The chance came to deliver Admiral Yachts' first Admiral 38 catamaran from Cape Town to the United States. In early 1999 Kent and Belinda crossed the Atlantic, Kent with tens of thousands of sea miles under his belt and Belinda with none. The catamaran was delivered to a brokerage in Fort Lauderdale, the start of a five-year working relationship with John Sykes, owner of 2Hulls, often called the wise old man of catamarans.
Having each owned businesses in South Africa, Kent and Belinda felt the urge to step out on their own again, and Just Catamarans was launched in January 2004. Partners Stuart Eichner and Thomas Chambers grew the sales team, and service partners Laurent Facchin, Chad Ferreira and Jennifer Arbelo lead the service team, all while keeping the same core values that made Just Catamarans a trusted name in the catamaran world.
