Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Marine Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in marine electrical systems, with a particular focus on power management, solar integration, and lithium battery technology. This role requires hands-on work, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain marine electrical systems on sailing catamarans, including wiring, panels, and auxiliary components.
- Design and implement advanced power management solutions, emphasizing solar energy systems and lithium battery technology.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to ensure safe and reliable operation of all onboard systems.
- Perform system upgrades and retrofits to meet customer-specific needs and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with the design and service teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into catamaran systems.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns and explaining system functionalities.
- Stay updated on the latest marine electrical technologies, codes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and maritime regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Marine Electrician, preferably in sailing or yachting industries.
- In-depth knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems, solar panels, and lithium battery setups.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong understanding of power generation, storage, and distribution in marine environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
- Certifications in marine electrical systems or a related field are a plus (e.g., ABYC, NMEA).
- A passion for sustainable energy solutions and sailing is highly desirable.
