TYLER MARTIN BIOGRAPHY

Tyler grew up in sunny Southern California. Like all SoCal kids, he grew up in and around the water; swim team, surfing, and sailing. But it wasn’t until his early 20’s that he began taking sailing seriously and moved to the east coast. 

By 2011 Tyler opened an ASA sailing school in Portland, Maine. Then in 2016, he started another sailing school in Key West, Florida, sailing to and from the forbidden island of Cuba.

Tyler gained countless opportunities to sail new boats, new cruising grounds, whether racing high-performance thoroughbreds or chartering modern cruisers with families, Tyler was always sailing. 

Over time, the boats got bigger and nicer. First catamarans, then trimarans; flying spinnakers, and code zeroes. For work he was regularly chartering large cruising cats; shuttling happy families amongst tropical islands and reefs, living adventures all of us dream about.

In 2018 Tyler partnered with one of the most successful sailing companies in Key West, opening one of the most prestigious sailing schools and charter companies in the country. It wasn’t soon after, that they revolutionized the sailing industry by creating a NauticEd sail training course, specifically designed for obtaining insurance for new boat buyers.
